If you read the Productivity Hour post back in April, you’ll know I’ve been waking up at 6am so I can edit the vlogs I’ve been creating. It quickly became apparent that waking up at 6am doesn’t give me enough time to do what I need to do.
So I’ve started waking up at 5:30am instead. Sometimes 5. Is this crazy? Hell yeah it is. is it difficult to wake up at 5:30? Initially, yes. But I recently read this quote, and it said something about there being a correlation between success and waking up early. Of course, simply waking up early and not doing anything won’t bring you success. Shit, no. Waking up early and getting shit done will bring you success. At least, that’s what I believe.
I used to feel like there weren’t enough hours in the day to get what I wanted to get done. To some extent, that was true. There wasn’t. I’d come home from my 9-5, which was usually around 6, get set up and find that before I knew it, it was time to sleep. I hated that feeling. The feeling of failing and not getting the right things done.
Since being up at ridiculous hours, I’ve been getting incredible amounts done.
“Waking up early and getting shit done will bring you success”
Vlogging, creating videos for the Movieville Facebook page, blogging again, gardening, setting up an office space in the garage are amongst some of the productive things I’ve been doing – and this is a result of waking up early. It’s incredible. But it’s not enough.
I want to do more, I still feel as though I could be doing more. This is why I introduced making videos for the Movieville Facebook page.
I’m doing this on my lunch break. I’d rather write a blog post than eat something. I suppose that’s not practical, but I’ve simply switched my priorities around a little.
I may be seen as crazy, especially considering none of this is bringing in any financial value. I’ve never been chasing the dolla. I’m just a fan of hustle, it seems.
Until the next one,
